In 1991 a small group of ladies interested in quilting decided to meet, bring along their sewing and share their knowledge of all things quilting.  Since then the Guild has evolved from a “sit and sew” group to an organized 501c(3) public charity dedicated to a variety of community service activities, and a commitment to the education of the members and the public about quilts, their history, and the many techniques of quilt construction.

The Guild offers classes on a wide range of topics; quilting techniques, art quilting, and quilting crafts.  Instructor-led classes with specific patterns and/or kits generally have a fee.  Many of these classes are given by Guild members.   More information will be posted as classes are announced.  Watch our calendar for up- coming events.

In 1993 the Piecemakers decided to have a quilt show.  Shows were held in ’93, ’95 and ’98.  After the ’98 show the Guild members decided that the quilt show would be every 2 years.  This is a true labor of love.  Committees begin working on the next show immediately after the current one ends.  It’s an “all hands on deck” event with vendors, a country store, make-it and take-it classes, silent auction, scrap dive and awards for the top 3 quilts in each category.  The members have their own quilt challenge with the winner of the challenge selecting the theme of the next challenge.

Quilters of all ages and skill levels are welcome to attend our meetings.  Many of our members are Winter Texans.  They bring their own unique styles and much appreciated energy to our many projects.
